About the Concert
There has been a church in Shepperton since the 7th century, but tradition asserts that the current St Nicholas church was rebuilt in 1614, with the tower being added -at the request of Queen Anne – one hundred years later. The structure of the tower has deteriorated over the centuries, and now needs urgent restoration. We are very grateful to Spelthorne Orchestra for offering to perform two fund-raising concerts in aid of the Tower appeal and we are delighted to welcome them back today for a concert that promises to be full of Eastern Promise.
