We are fund-raising to help cover two areas of necessary expenditure:

The completion of our Hall Renovation project. Although the main elements of the renovation are finished, there are a number of outstanding matters to be dealt with to enable us to achieve our objectives of outreach to our local commu- nity. In addition to this, it is becoming clear that we will soon need to carry out extensive works to renovate our Church roof.

Each year St John Fisher Church joins the Westminster Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes. We take a group of sick and/or disabled “assisted pilgrims” to the shrine in the South of France where they can be cared for by our amazing group of volunteers, many aged be- tween 16 and 20. A pilgrimage to Lourdes is an enormously beneficial act of faith for those assisted pilgrims. It provides not just a spiritual benefit but, for many, a pastoral one too, through the service and attention of volunteer helpers who enable them to enjoy every aspect of their week.

Here in Shepperton we spend a lot of our year raising funds to allow our assisted pilgrims and their volunteer helpers to take part in this truly wonderful and life changing experience. We thank you in advance for your generosity in supporting this event here today.
